FULLNESS OF LIFE FOUNDATION HONORS LUNDS AT BELIEVE CONCERT
By Myra Richman
On October 25, 2008, The Fullness of Life Foundation and several celebrity friends, including Chevy Chase, honored William and Sherry Lund at the Orpheum Theatre in down Phoenix with "Believe: A Concert for Life."
A creation of acclaimed producer Dennis D'Amico, executive producer of the Garland Music Series, commemorating the life of Linda McCartney and supported by Sir Paul McCartney, the evening brought together some of the finest talented musicians in the country.
Hosted by the irreverent Emmy Award-winner, comedian, writer and television and film actor Chevy Chase, magic was created onstage with saxophonist Tom Scott (currently celebrating the number two jazz record in the country), vocalist Paulette McWilliams, legend Kenny Rankin, singer Hilary Kole, classical pianist Yongmei Hu from China (who Maestro Zubin Hehta has called one of the truly great pianists of our time) and multi-platinum recording artist Bobby Caldwell.
Under the direction of Irving Fleming, The Scottsdale Symphony Orchestra and Pilgrim Rest Choir performed throughout the evening. Another legend, Roger Kellaway, was musical director for the evening.
The Lunds, well deserving of the evening's honoree status, continue to contribute to children’s charities, and their dream is being made a reality with "The Celebration Centre for Integrated Healing." The eighteen-acre campus of love will open its doors in Gilbert, Arizona in 2010 and will provide the most advanced natural and integrated medical treatments in the world. This evening was an opportunity for the community to celebrate through music and to reflect on how each and every one of us can be a visionary of change during a time when so many need so much.
Included on this first-ot-its-kind campus will be Envita Medical Center of America, founded by Dino Prato, currently with a campus in Scottsdale, Arizona. Due to support of individuals like Prato, The Fullness of Life Foundation will be able to continue its crusade of awareness, education and ensuring that children diagnosed with cancer soar to new heights wrapped in the warmth of The Fullness of Life Foundation family.
Proceeds from the event will benefit children who have cancer or other life threatening diseases that are in need of life-saving integrative treatment options.
