The 22nd power packed"Celebrity Fight Night" was held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix, benefiting the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute, and other charities.
The 7-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood, along with Kix Brooks, Ronnie Dunn, David Foster, The Tenors and Sinbad entertained the crowd with fabulous performances.
Considered one of the nation's elite charity events, the gala was emcee'd by Grammy Award-winning leading country music Reba MecEntire--for the eleventh year. 16-time Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer David Foster served as musical director for the 17th year.
The event attracted celebrities and professional athletes from all over the country to celebrate their idol, Muhammad Ali.
The outstanding list of live auction items brought raised paddles and an impressive amount of money for the cause. One example--a 5-day first class trip to attend the Formula One Etihad Airways Aby Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, EAE. Your airfare includes a personal suite, personal chef and a 23" widescreen TV.
Special honorees for the evening included Carrie Underwood, Carson Palmer, Dr. Francis Yeoh, Yank Barry and the Argyros family.
The 22 years of celebrating this incredible event has raised more than $118 million, thanks to the generosity of many supporters.
Seen in the audience were Larry King and his wife, Linda Thomson, Bo Derek, Melissa Peterman, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Larry Fitzgerald, Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and "The Greatest" -- Muhammad Ali.
