| Statement of Purpose: | The African Association of Arizona is a non profit organization founded in February of 1992 to promote greater Africa awareness through education and cultural activities. The membership is open to all Africans, Africans in the Diaspora, and friends of Africa in Arizona. The association is actively involved in developing an infrastructure for networking, strengthening our families, and increasing the awareness and appreciation of our rich cultural heritage. The association is involved in volunteer services for the community that benefit both youths and adults. We seek ways to help the less fortunate in Arizona and Africa. We were involved in fund raising efforts for the Rwanda refugees. We are in the process of adopting a minority Elementary school in South Phoenix. |
